Olga Sparkles Under Sunny Skies for the Great Islands Cleanup
Nine cheerful volunteers gathered at the Olga Community Center on September 20, 2026, fueled up with coffee and cake, then grabbed their gear for the Great Islands Cleanup. Together they covered 7 miles of roadway — sweeping Olga Road from Moran Park to Artworks and into the Olga hamlet, sparkling up Point Lawrence Road from Artworks to the Doe Bay bridge, and clearing the entire length of Obstruction Pass Road.
Big thanks to The Exchange for providing equipment and hauling away the garbage, and to the Great Islands Cleanup team for their support. Olga’s roadsides are noticeably tidier thanks to this small, committed crew! The Olga cleanup is organized as part of GICU every spring and fall, so mark your calendar and join in next time.
